When did you start your activity as a volunteer group, and how many active members do you currently have?
We began working as a group in 2015, and we currently have 25 active members.

 

What motivated the establishment of this group?
To protect and help weak and injured animals.

Most of the founders come from humanitarian or volunteer organizations, driven by a spirit of giving.

What activities and services do you provide?
We treat and assist injured animals, rehabilitate them, and work on reintegrating them.

 

Which governorates do you operate in?
Our activities are based in Rural Damascus, but we receive cases from all Syrian governorates that need medical assistance.

 

What is your motto or philosophy in volunteer work? What fields do you primarily focus on?
Our main motto is giving. We focus on three key principles:

No to animal breeding

No to animal sales

No to euthanasia

They can apply via the group’s email or join during volunteer days announced by the organization on social media

Do you offer training or guidance programs for new volunteers?
Yes, we train them on how to handle animals safely without causing harm to either party.

 

What are the requirements or skills you look for in volunteers?
A sense of humanity and initiative.

No, due to sanctions on Syria.

 

Do you receive any support from government entities or NGOs (local or international)? If yes, what type of support?
No.

What are the main challenges you face as a volunteer team?
Continuing to meet the needs and requirements of animals despite severe financial shortages.

What is your vision and future plans for expanding your work or developing your activities?
We aspire to prepare a larger facility for the organization, fully equipped for animal care according to global standards. We also aim to reduce mistreatment of stray animals.
